Doggie day care and private boarding
I currently have a small number of dogs for day care on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These dogs get to play with each other where suitable or if they want to have alone time. I have a small lifestyle block so there is plenty of things to interest them. If previously agreed they may come out in the car with me. They get plenty of play time as well as rest. For the more active or the younger ones I do enrichment games and a small amount of fun training. Check out my utube channel or Facebook page for videos of the sorts of things I do.
For suitable dogs I do some boarding generally only dogs from one or two families at the same time.
It is 30 per dog per day for day care.
Boarding is 40 per night plus their own food . There is a 30 fee if they spend an extra day being looked after.
FAQ Doggie day care and boarding
1. What’s the difference between daycare and boarding?
Daycare is for dogs staying just during the day for play, exercise, and companionship. Boarding is overnight care where your dog stays with us while you’re away.
2. What are the requirements for my dog to attend?
Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations, flea/worm treatments, and generally healthy. I require a met the dog first as I find this helps them to settle better.
3. Can puppies attend daycare?
Yes, if I have space as young puppies need extra care and attention.
4. What does a typical daycare day look like?
At my place no day is totally typical and it varies with the needs of the dogs. Dogs enjoy play, rest breaks, enrichment activities, and plenty of attention.
5. Will my dog be grouped with others?
Eventually yes if they want to. Some dogs I have dont want to be bothered with the other dogs and some take a while to learn to play nicely. No dogs are allowed to play together without careful assessment of their behaviour.
6. What if my dog doesn’t like other dogs?
This is fine as I am happy to let them run and explore on their own unless they are overly aggressive.
7. What should I bring when my dog boards?
Bring their regular food, any medications, and something familiar from home (like a blanket or toy) for comfort.
8. Where will my dog sleep?
Dogs have their own safe, comfortable sleeping space. Usually dogs sleep in crates but occasionally on my bed but it depends on the dog. This is discussed at the pre-assessment met.
9. Will my dog get exercise while boarding?
Yes! Dogs are treated like the day care dogs so- enjoy play and enrichment each day as part of their stay.
10. How often will my dog be fed?
We follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule and diet to keep them happy and healthy. This is also why we ask for their own food to be provided
11. What if my dog gets sick or injured?
We’ll contact you right away and take your dog to your vet (or mine) if needed. Safety and wellbeing are always our top priority. These costs will be added to the fee.
12. Are the dogs supervised at all times?
Dogs are supervised unless they are sleeping in a safe environment.
13. What if my dog needs medication?
We can administer some medications - this needs to be discussed prior to the booking
14. Do I need to book in advance?
Yes—space is limited.
15. Can I come tour the facility before booking?
Of course! A preassessment met is required so I met the dog, the dog mets me and you see my property
16. What are your drop-off and pick-up times?
Drop off and pick up times are by agreement in advance. For daycare we organise a time to suit - so all dogs can be dropped off safely while maximising convenience. Please let us know if you are held up.
